DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION OR ARE THERE OTHER OPTIONS?
Parents/Guardians have the right to request a student/parent/educator conference to ask questions before making a decision about enrollment or disenrollment in options for this school year.
If you wish for your child to attend Independent Study at Lemoore High School (559-924-6600) or Jamison High School (559-924-6620), please contact the school office for an appointment. If you wish for your child to attend Lemoore Online College Preparatory High School, please contact Bryan Rice at (559) 925-3433. To enroll in any of these programs, there musts be an agreement in place for your student that is signed by the student and parent/legal guardian. If you wish to have your child return to in-person instruction during the school year, you may provide notice to the site where they are enrolled and they will be returned to in-person instruction no later than five instructional days after notification. Students may be enrolled in Independent Study at any time during the 2020-21 school year.
Independent Study programs will provide opportunities for at least weekly synchronous instruction (classroom style instruction, or small group, or one-on-one instruction delivered in person or by internet or phone and involving two-way communication between the student and teacher.
Please let us know as soon as possible so that we have accurate enrollment numbers to plan for the new school year.
PLEASE NOTE: For students with exceptional needs, the IEP must specifically provide for Independent Study before the student can begin participating in the program.

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requiring our staff and students to wear masks indoors. They do not have to be worn outdoors. Accommodations will continue to be made for students with health conditions that prohibit them from wearing a mask. CDPH will be re-evaluating the mask requirement at the beginning of November, 2021.
______________________________________________________________________________
WHAT IF MY CHILD FORGETS THEIR MASK?
Our schools can provide masks upon request.
______________________________________________________________________________
ARE STUDENTS REQUIRED TO SOCIALLY DISTANCE?
Students are no longer required to socially distance, however, for health purposes, students will be seated three feet apart in classrooms.
______________________________________________________________________________
Students must continue to wear masks on the bus per CDC guidelines and will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer upon entering and departing the bus. Drivers will wear face coverings and have been trained to recognize COVID-19 symptoms. Buses will be cleaned between each route.

SCHOOL NURSES
Each school site has a room for students with COVID-19 symptoms to be isolated until they are able to go home. Students who exhibit symptoms must quarantine according to the current CDPH guidelines. Free COVID-19 testing is available in the nurse’s office by parent request. ______________________________________________________________________________
CLASSROOMS
They will be set up in order for students to be seated at least three feet apart to the extent practicable and students will all face the same direction. Teachers will teach six feet from the students. Classrooms will be stocked with hand sanitizer and tissue for student use. Replacement disposable masks will be provided as needed. Students will utilize their personally assigned Chromebook for doing classwork. ______________________________________________________________________________
CLEANING/SANITIZING
LUHSD custodians will follow the CDC Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfecting Schools. Only cleaning and disinfecting agents known to be effective against COVID-19 will be used and will be asthma safe. Areas used by a known infected person will be closed down for 24 hours and will then be cleaned and disinfected. All restrooms will be cleaned and stocked with hand sanitizer at least four times each day. All classrooms will be disinfected each evening using a disinfectant fogger. All high touch surfaces will be cleaned each night. Campuses will all have free standing hand sanitizer stations for student use.
